Bathroom Exhaust Fan on GFCI Outlet
I just moved into a new place and I noticed something that sometimes annoys me.
In my bathroom, there is an exhaust fan over the bathtub and it is wired to a GFCI outlet. To my understanding, this is how it should be - understandable due to proximity of moisture.
The gfci outlet that controls the fan is constantly on though - unless we hit the reset button to break the circuit on the outlet. Can the outlet be changed to allow the fan to be controlled by a switch but still a gfci outlet to stay compliant (and safe)? It's currently setup as your standard two receptical gfci outlet.
In all honesty, we only need it to be 1 outlet as it's incredibly rare to need to plug two things in and I'd like to have the ability to turn the fan off when the shower isn't in use. This is an on suite bathroom, so the drone gets annoying.
