spin cycle blues
So my Whirpool LSB6300PW2 stopped spinning my clothes out.
I know there are a lot of forums about simuar problems. I read one where the poster had to replace the transmission.. i don't want to do that.
The first thing i tried was to see if hopefully it would be the coupling... it wasn't. So i left the body off the machine and bypassed the lid switch, and ran a regular cycle to see what i could observe.
What i found was during the spin cycle the basin didn't move until i gave it a push. At that point it spun round and round in a slow and labored way.
I was hoping that maby it was a matter of something obstructing the rotation between the basin and the plastic reservoir that holds the water, so i took off the spindle and i took out the porcelain basin.
This timeI ran a spin cycle while observing the exposed shaft.
I found that there were two separate diameters to the shaft, one operates the agitator and the other is directly responsible for the basins spin.
The cycle showed again that the basins driver seems labored.
