Outlet for a garbage disposal

I am looking to replace my burnt out garbage disposal. Right now it is hardwired with romex coming out of the cabinet going into the garbage disposal. My new disposal is coming with a plug already attached so I wanted to keep it and install an outlet. The town just goes by the national electrical codes nothing more. What is the correct way I can put in an outlet down there?.
