ZWave Smoke detector with Simon XT + Alarm.com

Is there a way to make this work? I added a First Alert Z-Wave CO/Smoke detector to my Simon XT panel but I don't know what to do now so that the Simon XT sends me an alert to my phone/email. I am subscribed to LiveWatch/Alarm.com and the CO/Smoke detector appears in the Alarm.com page as a Z-Wave device. I contacted their tech support via email and they gave me an amazing answer: "I have never dealt with the z-wave smoke detectors so I don't know how they function with Alarm.com".... LOL! Are you kidding? What kind of answer is that? Aren't you supposed to figure out what you don't know and get back to me? Anyway, I set the smoke detector off using a candle and all I got was a lot of beeping from the smoke detector but nothing from the Simon XT panel or any alerts on my phone. Any help with this is appreciated.
