Water starts out high pressure, then completely drops.
I could find anything quite like the problem that I'm having so I went a head and made a new thread instead. Any ways me and my fiancé just moved into this house, it's a rental house out in the country. We get our water from a well. Our problem is ever since we have been living here is that when we first turn on the water we have the pressure coming out of the facet what is expected and seconds later it just plummets to a trickle. I went out to the pump house to check it out. He pressure gauge was still reason 35 psi. Turned on the water hose that was hooked right off the pressure tank and it had tons of pressure still. You could watch it pull the rest of the pressure down to about 25, well pump would kick on and pressure would go back up to 55-58psi. Talked to the land lord, he had some one come out and confirm that that was working properly. He said it was. Only thing I've done different to the house is put a different filter base and filters in. Culligan filters, I believe it's a 5 micron filter. Just replaced it last night again and it seemed to make things worse. Almost had no pressure at the house when the gauge in the pump house said 45psi. Do I have a restriction some where between the house and the pump house? The line goes underground into the basement, and that's where I have the filter. I was starting to wonder if a 5 micron filter is to much for this system, maybe causing to much of a restriction? Considered getting a 20 or 30 micron instead. Need some advice. Cant do much with the water the way it is. Thank you!
