Vista 20P Configuration Dump?
I have an older Vista 20P, and I'm upgrading (swapping out) the guts for the latest revision of the firmware. The BIOS chip cost as much to just replace the whole panel, so I did.
I have reset the Installer, Master and User 03 codes to something I know (on the old alarm panel) and would like to find a way to "dump" the configuration data to somewhere, whether that's to one of my two-line displays, or maybe to a computer somewhere (although I'm not sure the Vista 20P is serial port/USB friendly?) so I can merge most of that configuration data (manually or automatically) over to the new panel, saving me work. I don't think much is going to change between the panels, as the zone configuration is relatively well thought-out, and I'm just moving all the wires over.
Oh, and I do not want to simply pop the chip and swap it between panels (is the main PROM ASIC where the NVRAM data is stored?) as I do like the idea of having the new board and components, especially given the age of the original 20P.
Any ideas? Am I missing something really silly?
Thanks!
