Clean / Rebuild a Gas Control Valve from Water inside? Bosch 250SX Tankless
I have a Bosch Aquastar 250SX Tankless Water about 9-10 years old that went on the fritz the other day by not firing, and giving EA codes (flame not present) After getting through the troubleshooting steps unsuccessfully and everything else apparently okay (Ive got spark, fan running, solenoid activating, etc.) I got down to the gas control valve. After finding moisture and water in some of the attached parts (fan housing, etc.) I decided to take the valve out. I dumped about 1/4c of water out of it !!!
Water in the Valve? Huh!?!
Ive actually read a post elsewhere with some having the same problem - though those sources had no resolution on the source of the water, etc.
Anyway, I figure I have nothing to lose at this point so Ive dismantled the valve almost completely. Its clean inside, the joints/gaskets/o-rings are clean and in good condition, etc. Everything was just wet. There was water in the orifices/holes, in the gaskets/seams, almost everywhere. It was essentially submerged inside. Though, The water was clean/clear - there is no sign of rust, scale, etc. So . . .
1. Can this thing be reassembled back to working condition?
