Closet door ball latch broken
The ball latch on one of my interior closet doors is broken. I had tried to adjust it and the piston came out and the screw that holds it in place seems to have dropped down so far I can't use it.
Can this be repaired? I'm willing to replace it but I can't figure out a good way to remove it. There's no obvious way to get the cylinder out of the top of the door.
The first three pictures show the ball latch piston and spring, the fourth the cylinder it fits into on the top of the closet door, and you can even see the screw that has dropped into the bottom of it. I can fish the screw up with a magnet but there's not enough protruding that I can hold it and screw the ball back into it.
Any thoughts?
