What is in my floor joists?

I have BB-sized holes in my floor joists near the crawl space entrance filled with sawdust and more sawdust in the spider webs. There may be 10-20 of them. They weren't there six months ago. I crawled the inside perimeter of the block foundation and didn't see any others. I saw no mud tunnels running up the blocks. Are these from termites? Thanks
