Question about wiring under cabinet lighting

Hi I am new to electrical DIY. I want to install LED under cabinet lighting. I want that lighting to be controlled by the "surface light" button on the microwave which is above the cook top. The microwave had two 40 W incandescent lights and I have managed to remove them and install two 2 pin sockets instead. Now if I want to plug a 12 V LED light strip adapter in each 2 pin socket what can be the max power rating of the LED strip per socket? I figure that each incandescent lamps was taking 0.36 A (40 W/110 V), so if I keep my current below 0.36 A, I should be ok. How do I calculate the current in the microwave wiring when I plug in a 12V adapter for LED?
