Venetian Plaster application issues - plaster falling off and more.

Hello all. As a very complicated DIY project, I tried making and applying home-made Venetian Plaster (also sometimes called Stucco Lustro, or Tadelakt) to my bathroom. But I am facing some problems. Namely, the plaster seems to have adhesion problems and no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to be able to apply it so that it is truly flat, smooth, shiny. A picture is worth a 1000 words, so here we go: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8q5dhw9czmibe8o/AAB61n-Y6TrGOtrZHuTg42FMa?dl=0 As you can see, there are multiple small holes, some cracks, other imperfections/impurities. Also, in some places batches of plaster fall off, or come loose. During burnishing, sometimes small bubbles would develop. I used a traditional VP receipe, which says 50% slaked, hydrated lime paste and 50% marble dust. I also added in some green soap and linseed oil, as well as a bit of talcum powder, kaolin and methyl cellulose.
