waster oil heater circulation fan running backwards

Hi I have a mx200 lanair waste oil heater in my shop, lately the circulation fan will at times run backwards. And sometimes it seems to have a hard time getting going also. It is a direct drive and appears to have a capacitor on it. Should I just replace the motor? It free wheels easily just cant make up its mind which way to turn! thanks
